The marketing blurb goes on about connections to the fabled BBC LS3/5a mini monitor (which used KEF drive units), but the fact is that there’s little technical substance to link the two. I’ve had KEF LS50 and KEF Q350 for about a year or so with a Denon 600ne attached and often switch the two to compare different sounds. I find that the LS50s have incredible clarity but sound tiny and the Q350 have incredible size but have no clarity across the board.

With it enabled (paired with the LS50) it can be very bright, but routing through the Marantz circuits it tames it a lot and makes it much warmer, and of course you can then use the treble controls to turn it down a bit if you prefer. Alan Shaw strongly recommends that your ear fall between the woofer and tweeter, and 26", ...
